Bio

“Adelis” was born Addie Santiago on December 26, 1978 in Hartford, Ct. Growing up in Hartford Connecticut a young Adelis was exposed to the sounds of Disco, R&B and Hip hop music. She soon fell in love with the sounds of Freestyle music, then called "latin hip hop", at age 13. Some of her musical influences include Donna Summer, Patti Labelle, Selena, and Mariah Carey.
Adelis first emerged on the Freestyle scene with her debut songs “You Lied” and “As You Held Me” in the summer of 1996. At the young age of 16 she wrote and composed both songs. With her sultry voice and strong delivery Adelis became an instant hit with Freestyle fans. The song “As You Held Me” was highly praised and featured on several popular Freestyle compilations. In a time before internet or streaming services “As You Held Me” also received heavy airplay on Fm radio stations throughout the country and world. She followed up with her second hit “Release Me” in 1997 which quickly became another cult classic on the New England and NY freestyle circuits. After a hiatus from the music world for some time Adelis returned in the Summer of 2019 with her song “Run To Me”, an upbeat party anthem which was first released internationally on the compilation “Freestyle Music Vol 2”.
On Feb 14 2020 Adelis delivered yet another hard hitting freestyle anthem with her latest song “The Way That You Love Me”. Another club banger with a classic freestyle production that will surely get fans of the genre on there feet! Her freestyle dance hit “Dragon” was released in August 2020 has received high acclaim amongst both fans and Dj’s. Adelis’s vocal ability takes center on this monster of a jam with a stellar energetic production to match! Dragon is currently tearing up the Dj pools and FM Radio airwaves! Adelis’s latest song “Love Crazy” proves once again that New School Freestyle Music is alive and well!
